SHAW - Eloise Mims Holcomb, age 91, of Shaw, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019, at the Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2019, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, Mississippi. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Linn Methodist Church Cemetery. Reverend Greg Chamblee will officiate the services.
Eloise was born on March 12, 1928, to Louis and Lola (McCain) Mims in Webster County, Mississippi. She married the love of her life Joseph Grant "Buddy" Holcomb, Sr. She was an assembly line worker for Modern Line Industries in Indianola, Mississippi for over 20 years. Eloise was a long-time member of Shiloh Church of God. Ms. Holcomb loved to garden, plant flowers, grow vegetables, cook, quilt, sew and can vegetables. She also loved to go out to eat at Captain D's. She was a loving sister, mother, and grandmother who freely gave of her time and attention to all her family. All of her children their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren could always count on a birthday card from their granny. She will be greatly missed by all of her many loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis, and Lola Mims, husband Joseph Grant "Buddy" Holcomb, Sr., brother, Henry Carpenter, sister, Louise Mims and a great-grandchild Fred Ware.
Ms. Holcomb is survived by her six children; Betty (Bubba) Mallette of Cleveland, MS, Linda (Mitchell) Crocker of Cleveland, MS, Cheryl (Bubba) Brown of Drew, MS, Joseph Grant (Pat) Holcomb, Jr. Of Wesson, MS, Gail (Greg) Faulkner, of Falkner, MS, and Teresa (Guy) Logan of Cleveland, MS. Eight siblings; Dot Fryer, Mary Alice King, Evelyn Cobb, William Carpenter, Barbara Davenport, Ruth Whisenant, Jerry Caldwell, and Frank Caldwell. She also leaves a host of grandchildren great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers are her grandsons; Freddy Ware, Joey Holcomb, Seth Crocker, Sr., Thomas Crocker, Greg Taylor, and Guy Logan, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Holcomb, Sherman Logan, Leslie Steadman, Timothy Steadman, Seth Crocker, Jr., Christopher Taylor, Sammy Holcomb, and Patrick Holcomb.
