Becky Winters

Nellie Rebecca "Becky” Estes Winters, age 67 of Linn, MS passed away Saturday October 21, 2023 at the Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS.

Becky was born March 9, 1956 to D W Estes and Ethel McAtee Estes in Ruleville, MS. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. Becky began her nursing career with North Sunflower Hospital where she worked for many years, serving in various capacities of nursing, home health, and hospice. She also selflessly served as the missionary nurse for Calvary Chapel Baptist Church in Parchman.

Becky's family meant everything to her, and she treasured the time spent traveling and creating cherished memories with them and her friends. Being a truly giving person, Becky always put others before herself without seeking acknowledgment or recognition for her good deeds. Her acts of kindness were an inspiration to all who knew her. She found joy in nature and loved spending time outdoors. And who could forget her love for visiting Sonic to enjoy a refreshing Diet Coke?

For many years, Becky played the role of a loving pastor's wife, faithfully supporting her husband and working alongside the members of Bethany Baptist Church. Later on, she found solace in attending Calvary Baptist Church and Linn Baptist Church.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents, D W and Ethel Estes, as well as her beloved husband Charles "Chubby" Winters.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be carried on by her son Patrick Weeks (Andrea) of Boyle, MS, daughter Jennifer Weeks of Linn, MS, brother Dan W Estes Jr. (Bobbie)of Cleveland, MS, lifelong friend and sister Joyce Winters of Drew, MS; four grandchildren: Shelby Lynn Greene, Taylor Weeks, Garrett Greene, and Lindsey Gandy; and a great-grandchild, Tyson Wayne Muirhead.

Visitation will take place on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Joe Young will officiate the service. Becky will be laid to rest in the Drew Cemetery.

The honor of pallbearers has been bestowed upon Garrett Greene, Jefferson Muirhead, Parker Estes, Danny Storey, Derek Parker, and Frank Bizzell.

Ricky Cross, Rod Parker, and James Haynes Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
