Betty Frances Danna

Betty Frances Wells Danna, age 82, of Inverness, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Born on January 24, 1944, in Cleveland, MS, to Estus J. Wells and Myrtle Mae Rogers Wells, Betty was raised in Skene, MS, where she graduated from Skene High School. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to caring for others as a Certified Nurse’s Aide in various nursing homes and through private CNA work. She also enjoyed working in retail at Jay's Department Store and as a greeter at Walmart. By many, she was known as “Rose”, especially by those who worked with her. Her passions included yard work and housekeeping. You never saw her without a smile on her face or her lipstick.  Anyone who knew Betty knew that her great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Danna; her siblings, Gary Wells, Billy Wells, Sonny Wells, Elizabeth Chamness, and Ralph Wells; and her great-grandchild, Parker Hayes Lofton.

Betty is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lisa Smith Fletcher (Les) of Inverness, MS; her son, William E. Ray, Jr.(Kathy) of Inverness, MS; and her grandchildren, Jackie Lofton, Jr. (Shelby), Brent Lofton,(Kate) Drake Lofton, (Carley), Hattie Fletcher,(Curt), Cassie Ray, and Emily Kimble (Chris), Whitney Beard (James), Ashley Chapman. Her great-grandchildren, Layne Sterling, Saydee Ables, Aubrey Lofton, Carson Lofton, Emery Beard, Deacon Kimble, and Glen Ables, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. The services will be officiated by Bro. Mike Chamness. Honorary pallbearers will include her grandsons Jackie Lofton, Brent Lofton, Drake Lofton, Curt Ables, and Chris Kimble.
