Billy Ray Dykes

BOYLE - Billy Ray Dykes, age 68, of Boyle, MS passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at his home.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 30, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.  Graveside funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sledge, MS.

 Billy Ray was born on September 23, 1949 to James and Nettie (Thacker) Dykes in Quitman County, MS.  He met and married Louise Estes Johnson-Dykes in 1971 and spent 25 years of happiness with her until her death. Billy Ray loved his family and spent the last 17 years of his life taking care of his mom and dad. He loved to hunting, fishing and working around his home. Billy ray supported many good causes when he was able such as St. Jude Children's Hospital, the Shriners Hospital for children and many other Christian ministries.  He was hard worker, having worked on the farm all his life until his retirement 1998 due to health concerns. Billy Ray served God with all his heart and did all he knew to live a good and holy life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nettie Thacker Dykes; spouse, Louise Estes Johnson Dykes; sons Don and Bill Johnson.

He is survived by his companion, Rosie Ray of Cleveland, MS.  Brother, William (Nell) Dykes, Sr. of Tunica, MS.  Brother, Earl Dykes of Cleveland, MS.  Brother, Eugene (Judy) Dykes of Byron, MS.  Brother, Danny (Janice) Dykes, Sr. of Cleveland, MS.  Sister, Pearl Fuller of Sledge, MS.  Sister, Jo Ann (Bill) Scruggs of Yellville, AR.  Special-Nephew, Danny Dykes, Jr. of Cleveland, MS.  Special-Friend, Brandon Christian of Cleveland, MS.  Step-son, John Johnson of, Shaw, MS. He also leaves a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and canine friend Jasper.

Pallbearers are Danny Dykes, Sr., Danny Dykes, Jr., Bill Scruggs, Eugene Dykes, William Dykes and Mark Dancy. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Christian, Shane Husky and Brian Slater.
