Billy Harvey

Billy Raymond Harvey, age 84, of Blytheville, AR, a cherished member of the Ruleville community, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Born on February 21, 1941, to James Howard Harvey and Mavis Burchfield Harvey in Ruleville, MS, Billy dedicated over 30 years of his life to working as a cloth stretcher at Carhart South in Drew, MS. Upon retirement, he followed his passion by starting a lawn service business, where he continued to lend a helping hand to those around him.

Billy's life was marked by simplicity and generosity. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting deer, rabbits, and squirrels, as well as fishing. He was a loving brother, husband, and father, but perhaps his greatest joy came from his role as a doting grandfather and great-grandfather. His deep love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. Billy was a long-time member of the Ruleville Baptist Church, where he made significant contributions to his community and fostered strong connections.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mavis Harvey; his beloved wife, Mildred Jeanette Harvey; his daughter, Tammy Wynette Harvey; and his son, Gerald Harvey. He is survived by his daughter, Glenda Kerr of Blytheville, AR; brothers, William Harvey of Drew, MS, and Tommy Harvey of Grenada, MS; sister, Joy Youngblood of Southaven, MS; grandchildren, Justin Kerr, Tammy Wilkey; great-grandchildren, Joshua Kerr, Austin Wilkey, Gemma Rose Gressett; along with a host of nieces and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Visitation for Billy will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville, MS, officiated by Reverend Ken Harris.

Pallbearers will include grandsons Josh Kerr, Justin Kerr, and Austin Wilkey.

Cleveland Funeral Home has the honor of serving the Harvey family during this difficult time, allowing us to reflect on the wonderful life of Billy Raymond Harvey. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
