Maben, Mississippi - Bobby Leon Williams, Sr., aged 84, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.
Bobby was born on September 15, 1939, in Benoit, Mississippi to Woodrow Wilson Williams and Edna Price Williams. He spent his childhood in the Benoit and Greenville area of Mississippi and received his education in Greenville schools. Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from the Mississippi Army National Guard. He dedicated 33 years of his professional life as an assistant foreman for the warehouse at USG in Greenville until his retirement in the early 1990s.
On September 16, 1983, Bobby married Linda Rushing in Greenville, Mississippi. The couple later moved to Maben in 1999. Bobby was a member of Parkview Baptist Church during his time in Greenville. He had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying activities such as hunting, fishing, and yard work. Above all else, he cherished his family, particularly his children and grandchildren. Known as a versatile individual with a warm personality, Bobby was skilled in many areas and was beloved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Woodrow Wilson Williams Sr and Edna Price Fulwood, as well as his siblings Woodrow Wilson Williams Jr., Jessie Williams, Eugene Williams, and Casey Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda R. Williams of Maben; four sons: Bobby Leon Williams Jr. "Rusty" (Linda) of Chandler,TX; Robert Eugene Williams (Natasha) of Warner Robins GA; Edward Scott Hoffman (Jasmine) of Virginia City NV; Brian Keith Hoffman (Laura) of Mantee MS; sisters Ruby Simon (Jim) of Rome GA; Gloria Estes (Pete) of Larue TX; brother David Earl Williams (Gail) of Greenville MS; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be arranged at a later date to honor Bobby's life and legacy.
