Carolyn Prewitt Hudson

MERIGOLD - Carolyn "Tootsie" Prewitt Hudson, age 75, of Merigold, MS passed away on Thursday October 8, 2015 at the St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson.

Visitation will be held Saturday October 10, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Morrison Chapel Baptist Church in Cleveland. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Morrison Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Utica Cemetery. Rev. Carl Prewitt and Rev. John Thomas will officiate the service.

Carolyn was born on February 08, 1940 to Grady and Edna (McKnight) Prewitt in Merigold, MS. She graduated from Merigold High School and attended The "W" Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, MS. Carolyn retired from First Mississippi Corporation as a bookkeeper. After retirement, Carolyn moved to Cleveland to take care of her father Grady Prewitt for the past 17 years seeing to his every need. She loved working with her flowers in the garden, cooking and serving others. Carolyn was a strong Christian woman who loved reading and studying her Bible.
She was preceded in death by her parents Grady and Edna Prewitt.

Carolyn is survived by Son, Charles R. and wife Melanie Hudson of Hernando, MS. Daughter, Susan and husband Bill Needham of Brandon, MS. Sister, Brenda Doherty of Galveston, TX. Grandchildren; Charles H. Hudson, Patrick T. Hudson, Mary Elizabeth Needham and Aaron Baucum. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery Shivers, Brad Shivers, Steve Herbison, Darden Brady, Jimmy Reid and Bobby Speake.

Memorials may be made to Morrison Chapel Baptist Church 196 Morrison Chapel Rd Cleveland, MS 38732 or the charity of choice.
