Carolyn W Sterling

Carolyn Sterling, 86, passed away on December 20, 2025 in Anniston, Alabama.

Born on September 27, 1939, in Columbia, MS, Carolyn was the cherished daughter of Toxie Lavelle Williamson and Willa Erma Broome Williamson. She graduated from Gulfport Port High School in 1957 and shortly after, she married Reverend Franklin David Sterling Sr on April 6, 1958, in Moss Point, MS. As a dedicated pastor's wife and loving homemaker, Carolyn devoted her life to raising her five children and nurturing her legacy through her 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Williamson. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Reverend Franklin David Sterling Sr of Vicksburg, MS, their five children: Franklin David Sterling, Jr. (April), Rhonda Kay Scroggins (Jeff), Ruth Yvonne House (Michael), Carolyn Denise Gutierrez (Nazzrio), and Jackie Joann Aucoin (Ronald, Sr.). She is also survived by her brother, Kinney Williamson of North Carolina, and by her sisters, Rachel Jones (Billy, Sr.), Connie Newcomb, and Norma Hinnis (Roger), 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life Funeral service will be held at 11:00am at River of Life Church of God of Prophecy in Vicksburg, MS, at 4345 Lee Road. Carolynwill be laid to rest at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Vicksburg, MS. The Reverend Jeffery Scroggins and Reverend Wes Courtney are officiating the services.

In honor of Carolyn's memory, her grandsons Jacob Scroggins, Jared House, Judah Gutierrez, Nathan House, Josh Sterling, Caleb Sterling ,Seth Sterling and her son Franklin David Sterling Jr will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons Ronnie Aucoin, Michael Aucoin and Jeremy Aucoin.
