Charles Robert Ingram, age 81, of Shaw, passed away on Wednesday September 18, 2013 at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. He was born on December 02, 1931 to John Pelham and Carrie (Stiff) Ingram on Porter Bayou Road in Bolivar County, Mississippi. Charles graduated Shaw High School in 1950. He married Barbara Powell on November 13, 1954. He was a farmer all of his life having taken over the family farm, seeing 48 growing seasons before his retirement. Charles was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grand father and great grandfather who will be missed by all, especially the immediate family who considered him their leader. The family wishes to give special thanks to his friend, Ann Frazier who was at his side day and night rendering care.
Mr. Ingram was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 54 years Barbara Powell Ingram, two brothers; Wesley and John Ingram and a sister Louise Ingram.
Visitation will be held Saturday 09/21/2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with funeral services following at 11:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Stoneville Cemetery in Stoneville, MS. Reverend Shelby Hazzard will officiate the service.
Mr. Ingram is survived by two sons, Robert(Carol) Ingram of Shaw, MS and David (Betsy) Ingram of Brandon, MS . Two sisters; Clara Swain of Greenwood, MS and Catherine Ingram of Palm Harbor, FL. One brother, Boyd Ingram of Batesville, MS. Six grandchildren; Charles, Brett, Maggie,Corley, Emma and Mary Ingram. Four great grandchildren; Powell, Russ and Emma Ingram and Izzy Maury. Special friend Ann Frazier of Cleveland, MS.
Pallbearers are Charles Ingram, Jeff Ingram, Heath Ingram, Luke Ingram, Murray Riddle and Robert Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers are Hilton Tarver, Carl Wiley, John Hendon and Charles Eldridge.
