Jackson - It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Ray Stone, known as "Sonny" to family and friends, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the age of 70 in the Jaquith Nursing Home, after a long illness.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Tharp Cemetery in Rome, MS.
Charles "Sonny" was born on February 16, 1948 to Charlie Clinton and Mildred Lucille (Tharp) Stone in Minter City, MS. He graduated Ruleville High School and spent his early adult life working on the farm with family. Sonny was an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Mildred Stone, Sister, Brenda McCullough, Brother, Raymond Stone and three grandchildren.
He is survived by two sons; Floyd Wayne Stone of Louisiana, Bobby (Cindy) Stone of Meadville, PA. Two daughters; Sonya Cates and Tiffany Smith both of Meadville, PA. Three sisters; Ruby (Larry) Mullins, of Cleveland, MS, Mary Ann (Danny) Ransom of Charleston, MS and Becky (Johnny) Sheedy of Cleveland, MS. He also leaves 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Johnny Sheedy, Larry Mullins, Chris Mullins, Bobby Stone and Dakota Stone.

So sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in knowing that the bible likens death to a deep sleep (John 11:11) and promises that Jesus Christ will awaken all those in Gods memory that have fallen asleep in death (John 5:28, 29). Yes, we have the wonderful hope of seeing our loved ones again. At that time Revelation 21:3, 4 says "death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." Until then, continue to look to Jehovah God and his word the Bible for comfort in your times of grief and sorrow (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4).
