We never met but I wanted to extend my condolences to you and your family. My husband Bill served on the Compton with Mr. Duke and as you know they were and still are a very tight knit group and enjoyed their reunions so much. Jack Heidecker is so good about keeping me informed, I lost Bill eight years ago to cancer but still remember all the wonderful Navy stories. My heartfelt sympathy. Shirley Ormsbee

I am so sorry for your loss. Met Mr. Duke when I worked at Cleveland Clinic. Always so nice and had a smile on his face. Doesn't seem like it was to long ago that I saw him and of course, he was smiling. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Susan and family, I am so sorry about your loss. I enjoyed knowing Vernon the years I had my own business. He delivered helium to our balloon shop, and always had a smile. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. My sympathy and prayers are with you all. Blessings and love, Eileen
