Darnell Grimes

BOYLE - Mrs. Darnell Jones Grimes, age 71, of Boyle, passed away Sunday February 06, 2011 at the North Sunflower Hospital in Ruleville.      Mrs. Grimes was born on January 31, 1940 to Wayne Allison and Ora Ophelia (McMinn) Jones in Bolivar County , MS .  Mrs. Grimes grew up in the Cleveland area and lived here most of her life. She married Franklin D Grimes on October 27, 1956 in Skene , MS . She had worked for Greenville Mills and Color Tile for 13 years before becoming a homemaker to raising her children. She was a former member of Skene Baptist Church and current member of Ray's Memorial Baptist Church . Mrs. Grimes was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. She was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother.     Visitation will be held Tuesday February 8, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday February 9, 2011 at the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at the North Cleveland Cemetery . The Reverend John Chouccoli will officiate the services. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers James Franklin Jones, Wayne Allison Jones, Jr., Roger Dale Jones, One Sister; Bobby Jean Carver and two grandsons Greg and Shawn Bell.    She is survived by Husband of 54 years Franklin Grimes of Boyle, MS. Daughter Marcia Bell-Cobb of Horn Lake, MS, Son Gary Grimes of Dyersburg, TN, Two sisters; Carolyn Taylor of Cleveland and Barbara Ann Palmer of Benoit, MS, Two Brothers; Charles Jones of Clarksville, TN and Jimmy Jones of Boyle, MS, Four grandchildren Ashden and Ayden Grimes of Cleveland, MS, Kaley and Tyler Cobb of Horn Lake, MS, 2 great grandchildren Logan and Joshua Bell of Horn Lake, MS. Pallbearers are Kenny Jones, Sherman Jones, Craig Taylor, Chris Taylor, Kyle Redden and Mark Redden.   Mrs. Grimes was an avid supporter of St. Jude Hospital and request that memorial be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis , TN 38105  Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
