Dowe Allen Brown, Jr. "Bubba"

 Dowe Allen "Bubba" Brown Jr. age 68 of Drew, MS passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 at his home in Drew.

    A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Darry's in Boyle, MS from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Appetizers will be served.

    Bubba, as he was affectionately known, was born February 24, 1954 to Dowe Allen and Evelyn Griffith Brown in Cleveland, MS. He graduated Bayou Academy in 1972 and attended Mississippi State University until returning home to the family business. He owned and operated D & D Specialty Contractors, Inc. He liked to refer to himself as the "Tile Mechanic". Bubba enjoyed hunting, especially turkey hunting, playing piano, gardening and in his early years flying airplanes and boxing. He always enjoyed his time spent with his grandchildren, teaching them many life lessons and helping build things. Bubba had previously attended Skene Baptist Church and was a member of the Big Hungry Hunting Club.

    He was preceded in death by his parents Dowe Allen Brown, Sr, Evelyn Griffith Brown, his first wife Alana Darlene Mullins Brown, grandson Kellen Brown and sister Sharon Brown Sterling.

    Bubba is survived by his wife of 20 years Cheryl Holcomb Brown of Drew, MS, step-son Michael Atkinson of Jackson, Ms, son Shannon Brown (Martha) of Cleveland, MS, step son Steve Holcomb of Linn, MS, step daughter Pamela Highland (Jeff) of Plano, TX, stepson Greg Taylor (Serena) of Drew, MS, stepdaughter Christina Taylor of Grenada, MS, grandchildren; Meega Brown, Easton Brown, AuBree Highland, Jolie Highland, Wyatt Taylor, Ford Taylor, Finn Taylor, Trevor Vaught, Chris Taylor and Noah Edwards. He also leaves a host of other beloved family members to cherish his memory.
