Earnest "Bo" Charles Simpson, age 68, of Cleveland, MS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, MS.
Born on October 22, 1957, in Memphis, TN, Bo was the beloved son of Bobby Simpson and Connie "Bonnie" Beard Simpson. He spent his formative years in Senatobia, MS, where he attended Senatobia High School. After serving several years in the Army National Guard, Bo embarked on a diverse career that included working at a toy manufacturing company, managing Sonic and Domino's Pizza, and providing security for several Tunica casinos. From 2003 to 2014, he embraced the role of a long-haul truck driver, a profession that allowed him to indulge his passion for travel. Following this chapter, he moved to the Cleveland area, where he continued to touch lives with his vivacious spirit.
Known for his humor and warmth, Bo had a unique ability to connect with others. He enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee with friends and family and was always the life of the party. A true free spirit, he loved pranks, motorcycle rides, beach outings, and lively conversations. One of his cherished moments was the joy of picking up his granddaughter at Bayou Academy in his yellow truck and watching her perform in the band.
Bo is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Bonnie Simpson, his grandson Matthew Hamilton, Jr., and his dear friend James McGrew. He is survived by his daughter Whitney S. Ulrich (Justin) of Cleveland, MS; his sisters, Bobbie Lynn Simpson Moore of Senatobia, MS, and Ruth McMullen (Danny) of Senatobia; the extended Grace Family of Senatobia; and his grandchildren, Leah and James Ulrich of Cleveland, MS. He also leaves behind his beloved canine companion, Loie, along with countless friends who will remember him fondly.
A private memorial service will be arranged at a later date.
Cleveland Funeral Home is honored to serve the Simpson family during this difficult time.
