Ms. Ellar Frances Russell passed away Monday, January 09, 2023, at the Bolivar Medical Center Long Term Care.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2023, followed by a Funeral Service held in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Beulah Cemetery in Beulah, Ms. Bro, John Thomas, and Bro. David Horton will officiate the services.
Frances was born September 16, 1938, to Grady and Mary Ellar Goodnight Moore in Quitman County, MS.
She attended Quitman County Schools. She was married to Elvin Hollis Russell. Frances worked at AMPCO in Rosedale, MS, and retired after 30+ years of service with Baxter Laboratories. She loved to garden, put up vegetables, sew, and taking care of children. She was a member of Morrison Chapel Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, helped with AWANA, worked in the nursery, taught Sunday School, and helped with Vacation Bible School. She was always giving to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents Grady and Mary Ellar Moore, husband Elvin Hollis Russell, Jean Golden, Margaret Beaver, Jimmy Moore, Marie Winters, Faye Melton, and Christine Sellers.
Frances is survived by her 3 children; Deborah Sturgis (Tommy) of Nesbit, MS, Sandra Whitman of Lake Wells, FL, Elvin Perry Russell (Becky) of Cleveland, MS, siblings; Louise Smith (Cecil) of Batesville, MS, Bonnie Beaver of Cleveland, MS, Eugene Moore (Betty) of Sarah, MS, Nancy Carpenter (Kenny) of Cleveland, MS, Grady Moore of Lambert, MS, Zeke Moore (Judy) of Cashier, NC, and Linda Schiefer of Cleveland, MS, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish her memory.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Russell, Brandon Carpenter, Kenny Carpenter, Corey Bridges, Tyler Sturgis, and Keith Russell. Honorary pallbearers are Rodney Russell, Tyler Chouccoli, and Eric Whitman.
