Frances Joann Moody

Frances Joann Ray Moody, aged 63, of Cleveland, MS, passed away peacefully at her home on October 10, 2025.

Joann was born on May 19, 1962, to Jerry Ray and Wilma Harper Ray in Cleveland, MS. She attended Cleveland Schools. Joann married Jackie Moody on January 26, 1990, and dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother, cherishing the time spent with her family.

In addition to her family duties, Joann contributed to the family business, working at Beaks and Bubbles, a pet shop, for several years. She had a passion for woodworking, gardening, sewing, and enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles and watching western movies. Some of her fondest memories were made on trail rides with her husband, Jackie, and tending to her horses. Most importantly, Joann treasured the moments spent with her family during holiday dinner gatherings.

Joann is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Ray; her mother, Wilma Ray Peacock; and her step-father, James Thomas Peacock Sr. She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Jackie Moody of Cleveland, MS; her sons, Jeremey Cantrell and Jeffery Cantrell, both of Cleveland, MS; her daughter, Corrie O'Neal of Greenwood, MS; and Wendi Cantrell of Olive Branch, MS. Joann also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Robin Beevers (Kenny) of Shaw, MS, and Lisa Beach (James) of Cleveland, MS. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Karlie Cantrell, Mia O'Neal, Millie Claire O'Neal, and Jack O'Neal, along with a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Visitation for Joann will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Cleveland Funeral Home. Burial will follow at North Cleveland Cemetery. Reverend Chris Gentry will officiate the services. 

Pallbearers honoring Joann's life include Joe Garcia, Chris Kimble, Wade Springer, Bill Ray, Frank Bizzell, and David Pope.
