RULEVILLE- Frank J. Adkins age 85 of Ruleville, MS passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020, in Madison, Mississippi.
Frank was born May 26, 1935, to Sam and Elsie Tillery Adkins in Pine Ridge Arkansas. He grew up in the Pine Ridge, Hot Springs Arkansas area before moving to California where he was enlisted to the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He received the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart Award.
After the war Frank moved back to the Delta and became the maintenance supervisor with Douglas & Lomason in Cleveland, He retired after 28 years of service. Frank married Laquieta Mann on May 7, 1989.
He was a member of the VFW Post in Cleveland. He also loved to hunt and fish. Frank will be missed by his friends and family.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Elsie Adkins, three sisters, Joyce Trelby Gillis, Leda Faye Adkins, and Frances Carroll.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Laquieta Mann Adkins of Ruleville, MS, daughter Crystal (Johnny) Harper, Son, Gallen (Rhonda) Williams of Cleveland, MS, Misty (William) Stokes of Ruleville, MS, Son, Jason (Selena) Williams of Merigold, MS, four nephews, Philip Gillis, Randy Gillis, Jeff Carroll, and Durwood Carroll. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren to cherish his memory.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
