BYHALIA - Frank Vazquez, Jr. age 61, of Byhalia, MS, passed away on Sunday January 10, 2016 at his home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday January 13, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Funeral Services follow 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Drew Cemetery. Reverend Clarence Edwards will officiate the service.
Frank was born on November 22, 1954 to Franscico and Erlinda (Soliz) Vazquez in Skene, MS. He grew up in the Shaw area and attended Shaw High School. At the age of 17 he entered the United States Army. He married Rita Ellen M Woods on December 31, 1980. Frank worked in construction most of his life; working for several local contractors and was currently employed by Smith & Doyle Contractors in Cordova, TN as a construction supervisor. He was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting, fishing and most any outdoor activity. He also enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. Frank's family said he was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his children, giving to others and working hard. Frank was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rita Ellen M Woods Vazquez of Byhalia, MS. Two daughters; Melinda Heather Vazquez of Byhalia, MS and Stacy Nicole Vazquez of Byhalia, MS. Four sisters, Nancy Palacious of Shaw, MS., Mary Edwards of Southaven, MS, Sylvia Vazquez of Boyle, MS and Alice Northen of Carthage, NC. Brother, George Vazquez of Whiteville, TN. A Granddaughter, Melanie Grace Vazquez of Byhalia, MS and a host of nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Pallbearers are Ricky Woods, Barry Haynes, George Vazquez, Pat Burnette, Benny Haynes, Michael Jones and Jesse Palacious. Honorary pallbearers are his coworkers and team members at Smith & Doyle Construction.
