Franklin D Grimes

SKENE - Franklin D. “Frank” Grimes, age 83, of Skene, passed away on Monday, September 02, 2019 at the Tunica County Health and Rehab in Tunica, MS. 

Frank was born on March 08, 1936 to Thomas Eugene and Florence Nola (Beevers) Grimes in Boyle, MS.  He grew up in the Skene Community and married Darnell Jones on October 21, 1956.  He was a retired farm worker for Redden Farms and Ferretti Farms for over 50 years. Frank enjoyed fishing and working on the farm. He always liked to stay busy at all times. He was a hard-working family man who loved his family.  He was of the Baptist Faith.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Eugene and Florence Nola Grimes, Wife, Darnell Jones Grimes, three brothers, Earnest, Paul, and Edward Oliver Grimes, sister, Dixie Schaffer, and two grandchildren, Gregory and Shawn Bell.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2019, from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at the North Cleveland Cemetery. Reverend Robert Haney will officiate the services.  

He is survived by Daughter, Marcia (Curtis) Cobb of Horn Lake, MS. Son, Gary Grimes of Newbern, TN.  Brother, Earl Grimes of Leland, MS. Four grandchildren, Ashden and Ayden Grimes, Kaley and Tyler Cobb. Three great-grandchildren Charlie Mathis, Logan, and Joshua Bell.

Pallbearers are Chris Taylor, Craig Taylor, Kenny Jones, Knottie Jones, Darrell Taylor, and Mark Redden.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38501.
