Garland R. Pearson

SKENE - Garland "Tiny" Ray Pearson, age 58, of Skene, passed away on Thursday December 29, 2011 at the Bolivar Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM Friday December 30, 2011 at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.  Graveside funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM at Delta Heights Memorial Gardens in Cleveland. Reverend Wayne Sistrunk will officiate the service.  Tiny was born on November 02, 1953 to C. A. and Ruby Marie (Caygle) Pearson, Jr. in Drew, MS.  He married Janet Elmore Pearson on June 12, 1982 in Skene, MS.  He was a truck driver for 42 years and retired from Woodland Eubanks Trucking. Tiny was known as "King Daddy" and he had the remarkable ability to tell you exactly where to go and how to get there for all truck drivers. He was a member of Skene Baptist Church for over 29 years. He was preceded in death by his father.   He is survived by Spouse of 29 years, Janet Elmore Pearson of Boyle, MS.  Mother, Ruby Marie Caygle Pearson of Ruleville, MS.  Daughter, Ashley Nichole and fiancé (Jeff Shannon Brooks) Pearson of Gore Springs, MS.  Son, Patrick Duke Pearson of Cleveland, MS.  Two Brothers, C. A. Pearson, III of Atoka, TN.  and Ralph Pearson of Grenada, MS.  four sisters, Janice Roark of Yazoo City, MS, Beverly Ann "Poochie" Kovarcik of Ruleville, MS, Elizabeth Anne Laddie of Dadeville, AL and Tammie Louise Porter of Hueytown, AL.  A host of nieces and nephews and his pet companions Rusty and Reba. Pall-bearers are Ralph Pearson, C.A. Pearson, III, Joey Kovarcik, Andy Pearson, Duke Pearson, Mark Lane, Charlie Kovarcik and Randy Whitworth. Honorary pall-bearers are Henry Coleman, Paul Gentry and Jeff Brooks.
