Gayla taught me how to be an ICU nurse! I invoke her in practice all the time, and if you hear me talking at work you will hear just a little Gayla in my delivery from time to time.
She was absolutely the most competent nurse I've ever worked with. She had such a keen intelligence, and somehow managed to be both very no-nonsense AND incredibly kind.
My deepest sympathies to Gayla's family-I feel like I know many of you because I heard stories about you for years.
Thank you Gayla, for all you taught me, and for the memories that even in this moment have me laughing through tears.

I am so sorry to hear about GG. I so enjoyed working with Gayla at Barnes Jewish Hospital. She was an awesome nurse. She always gave 110%. I precepted Gayla when she started, but she really precepted. Whenever Gayla worked with you or followed you, you had to always bring your A game. Gayla was a beautiful person inside and out. My condolences to the family.
