Mrs. Idell Avritt Cross died peacefully surrounded by her family in Arab, Alabama on January 2, 2016 at the age of 83.
Visitation for Idell will be Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. The service for Idell will be on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Morrison Chapel Baptist Church with graveside to follow at Beulah Cemetery in Beulah, Mississippi.
Idell was born on September 25, 1932 to Obie Dell and Gladys Avritt in Washington County Mississippi. The family moved to Cleveland, Mississippi and she met her husband, Bill Cross there. The two were married on December 29, 1952. She was a faithful member of Morrison Chapel Baptist Church. The couple moved to Detroit, Michigan for a time and then Bill and Idell moved to Clarksdale, Mississippi where she became a faithful member of Clarksdale Baptist Church.

Idell loved God, her family, friends, and her church and was faithfully devoted to each of them.
Idell is survived by her husband, Bill Cross of Arab, Alabama; her son, Michael Cross of Arab, Alabama; her daughter, Susan Sutton and son-in-law, Levone Sutton of Arab, Alabama; her granddaughter, Jennifer Arrington; her grandson, Christopher Frazier and wife Theresa Frazier of Metarie, Louisiana; and three great grandchildren: Michelle Frazier of Hampton, Virginia, Mary Elizabeth (MEA) Arrington and Dale Arrington of Arab, Alabama. She is also survived by three brothers: William Avritt and sister-in-law Patty Avritt of Cleveland, Mississippi, Larry Avritt of Madison, Mississippi, and Delbert Avritt of Memphis, Tennessee. In her extended family, she is survived by two sister-in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as, several great nieces and nephews. Idell is preceded in death by her parents, Obie Dell and Gladys Avitt and her sister, Ozell Barnett.
Pallbearers will be William Avritt, Larry Avritt, Les Avritt, Brian Barnett, Frank Johnson, and Joe Johnson.
