James "Dick" Albert Kelly, Jr.

BOYLE - James Albert "Dick" Kelly, Jr. age 81, of Boyle, MS, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, July 07, 2019, at his home in Boyle.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2019, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.  Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in the New Cleveland Cemetery. Brother Larry Weaver will officiate the services.

 James was born on January 30, 1938, to James and Nancy (Bowen) Kelly, Sr. in Boyle, MS. He attended Skene Schools. After high school, he joined the United States Navy. Upon his return, James worked as a welder for Brent Towing for many years. James married Geneva Fratesi in July of 1988.  After his retirement, he began a commercial fishing career. He loved fishing and did this until his health would not let him continue. Dick, as he was affectionately known, loved his family and especially his grandkids. James hobbies included fishing, gardening, and singing country music.

James was preceded in death by his parents. James and Nancy Kelly, two sons, Albert and Robert Kelly, two sisters, Louise Hatcher, and Maggie Preston and a brother, Frank Kelly.

He is survived by Spouse, Geneva Fratesi Kelly of Boyle, MS. Three sons, Mark Dewayne (Sandy) Kelly of Richland, MS, James Earl (Lizel) Kelly of Richland, MS, Phillip Strickland, of Boyle, MS. A Sister, Mable Jessie of Kentucky. Seven grandchildren; Cassie (Terry) Rivers, Phillip (Blair) Strickland, Jr.,  Samantha (Ethan) Davis, Dewayne (Alicia) Kelly, Brian Kelly, Asher Kelly, and Zackery Kelly. Seven great-grandchildren; LaMarcus and Jacob Kelly, Peyton, Chase, and Cady Love Strickland, Ava and Briley Canady.

Pallbearers are Johnny Buck, Bobby Holder, Chris Hudson, John Moody, Galen Williams, John Doty, Ken Doty, and Eddie Daniels.
