James McDonald

Mr. James McDonald, age 79, passed away on September 20, 2024 at his home in Linn surrounded by his family.

James was born July 10, 1945, in Linn, MS to Rasbon Stephen McDonald and Virue Christine Tisdell McDonald. He grew up in the Linn community and graduated Linn High School, he also attended Mississippi Delta Community College. James married Jeraldine Arbuckle on February 11, 1967, in Pace, MS. He was a mechanic for Lewis Grocer/Super Value for over 40 years he retired in 2010. James's faith played a significant roll in his life being a member and deacon of Linn Baptist Church for many years. His hobbies included; horseback trail riding, camping, salmon fishing, hunting, gardening, and building all types of crafts. James was a loving generous man to his family and in the community, the kids always flocked to the house and he included them in his life. His nieces and nephews nicknamed him, "Uncle Buggy" having been known to pester them anytime he could. His life and love were taking care of his family in all areas.

He was preceded in death by Rasbon Stephen McDonald (Father), Virue McDonald (Mother), Dorothy Beck (Sister), and Karen Thornton (Sister). He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Jeraldine McDonald of Linn, MS, daughters Toni Upton (Chad) of Madison, MS, and Vicky Braswell (Mike) of Holcomb, MS, 3 grandchildren; Morgan Roberts(Randy), Peyton Irby and Kayla Braswell, one great-grandchild, Ace Daniel Roberts, 7 siblings; Jeanette Skeen, Mary Acree (Joe), Ellen Litton, Robert McDonald (Louellen), Thomas McDonald(Kay), Richard McDonald (Vonee), William McDonald (Gloria). He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 23, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Linn Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Bob Hill and Reverend Mark Mayo will officiate the services.

The pallbearers are Chad Upton, Mike Braswell, Randy Roberts, Peyton Irby, Don Lee, and Timmy Henderson. The honorary pallbearers are nephews; Brian Litton, Brad McDonald, Mark McDonald, Matt McDonald, Keith Beck, Floyd Arbuckle, Jr., Ike Arbuckle, Jr, Ian Hughes, Bobby Foster, Jr., J. C. Braxton, John Arbuckle, Jr. and Spencer Arbuckle, Jr.
