James Scott

James Robert Scott, Jr., age 68, of Cleveland, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Cleveland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on September 11, 1957, in Ironton, Kentucky, James was the son of James Robert Scott, Sr., and Ida Hall Scott. He grew up in Wurtland, Kentucky, where he graduated from Wurtland High School. James dedicated many years of his life to his trade as a carpenter. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed the art of collecting arrowheads.

James is preceded in death by his beloved parents and his wife, Sheila Scott. He is survived by his loving children, Dusty Michelle Long of Argillite, Kentucky, and Joshua Matthew Scott of Raleigh, North Carolina, and his sister Linda Hixson of Wurtland, KY. He also cherished his two grandchildren, Chad Long and Kyle Scott, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service to honor James's life will be held at a later date. The family appreciates the compassion and support they have received during this difficult time. Cleveland Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of James's family as they navigate this loss.
