Janney B Fleming

Janney B. Fleming, age 78, of Drew, MS, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2026, at her home.

Janney was born on February 4, 1948, to Sabry Broussard, Sr. and Darothy Broussard in Kaplan, LA. Her family moved to the Mississippi Delta (Shaw, MS) in 1953. Janney graduated from Leflore County High School and then later attended Delta State University, where she received an Associate Degree. Janney married her sweetheart, Thomas Fleming, on December 16, 1966, in Drew, MS. She taught at Heritage Christian Academy for about 25 years and later became a Library assistant for the Sunflower County Library System, where she also worked in the summer reading program. Janney was a member of First Baptist Bible Church in Drew, MS, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She truly loved her "church children". Janney loved to do many arts and crafts projects, as well as crocheting. Janney also loved to cook, read, and watch TV detective shows.

Janney was preceded in death by her parents; Sabry F. Broussard, Sr. and Darothy Mae Dartez Broussard. She is survived by her loving husband, of 59 years, Thomas Fleming of Drew, MS; Daughter, Aimee Tidwell (Phillip) of Marks, MS; 3 Sons, Tom Fleming (Margaret) of Drew, MS, Jeff Fleming (Cindy) of Water Valley, MS, Anthony Fleming (April) of Ankeny, IA; 8 grandchildren, Ashley Cleveland (Jake), Anna Pritchard (Trey), Hayden Fleming (Morgan), Brooke Fleming (Seth), Cole Fleming (Ashley), Matthew Fleming, Dagan Bell-Fleming (Gabby) and Jaxton Fleming; 3 Great-Grandchildren, Amelia Cleveland, Kristin Schnapp and Mary Kate Mohler; 2 Sisters, Veronica Hebert (Willis) of Edmond, OK and Margaret Rushing (David) of Indianola, MS; 3 Brothers, Sabry Broussard, Jr. (Brenda) of Springfield, MO, Frank Broussard of Lexington, MS and Paul Broussard (Claire) of Abbeville, LA.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Lehrton Cemetery. Rev. Phillip Tidwell and Rev. Trey Pearce will officiate the services.

Pallbearers will be Hayden Fleming, Trey Pritchard, Seth Mohler, John Rogers, Kevin Rogers, and Jeremy Fleming.
