Jewell Ferguson

Jewell Katherine "Kitty" Winters Ferguson, age 76, of Cleveland, died Tuesday November 3, 2009 at the Bolivar Medical Center Long Term Care in Cleveland. Visitation will be held Thursday 11/05/2009 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday11/06/2009 at 2:00 PM in Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the North Cleveland Cemetery. The Rev. James Wilkerson will officiate. Mrs. Ferguson was born on July 10, 1933 to Thomas and Alma (Campbell) Winters in Black Hawk, MS. She Attended Carroll County Schools and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. In the late 1940's, she and her family moved to the Delta where in 1951 she married the late John L. Ferguson. Mrs. Ferguson devoted her life to God and her family. Even in tragedy and sickness her faith and love for God never waivered. She loved having her family and friends around her. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She touched many lives and was affectionately known to those who knew her as "Maw". She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Rocky A. Ferguson, 2 daughters; Mary A Brown and Jewell Ferguson, 2 grandchildren; Brian Foster, Lisa Smith and 1 great-grandchild Zander Brown, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by 2 Daughters, Faye and husband Danny Tharp of Cleveland, MS. and Brenda and husband Larry Scruggs of Merigold, MS. 5 Sons, Jimmy and wife Patsy Ferguson of Jonesboro, AR, James and wife Frankie Ferguson of Jonesboro, AR, Kenneth Ferguson of Cleveland, MS, John Ferguson of Merigold, MS and Wayne Ferguson of Cleveland, MS. 22 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 28 great-great grandchildren and a host of nephews and nieces. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tony Brown, Keith Brown, Jimmy Ray Ferguson II, John Scruggs, Blake Ferguson and Rocky Ferguson II. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews. Cleveland funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
