John "Will" William Morrow

July 11, 1956 — June 16, 2026

Webb

John William (Will) Morrow passed away June 16, 2026 at his home between Webb and Parchman after a battle with cancer. He was born in Clarksdale, MS on July 11, 1956.

> Will is survived by his brother, Robert Morrow (Debbie) of Sumner and his sister, Anne Hart Preus of Starkville, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents James Hart (Choctaw) and Annie Laurie (Dink) Morrow, and his long time partner Gail Mohler.

> Will attended Mississippi Delta Community College and Mississippi State University. After college, he and his brother Robert had a crawfish farming business on the family farm. Later he worked on construction and retired from a yard care business. His business card said “Will” mow for your money, and “Mow de Lawn.”

> Will’s quick wit and sense of humor will be remembered.

> Thoreau’s words, “If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he has a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away,” fit Will accurately. He did things his own way and in his own time.

> He did not embrace the age of technology and refused to use computers. Formal was not in his vocabulary. He was happy shopping for his wardrobe at thrift stores and yard sales with no regard to current fashion. He loved the outdoors and relished riding on country roads in late afternoons to look at the Delta sunset with his beloved dogs while listening to his favorite CDs. Will had a kind heart and could not turn away a person or animal that needed a home.

> The family wishes to thank all who helped care for him. Memorials may be given to a local animal shelter or a charity or choice.

> A gathering of friends and family to reflect on and celebrate Will’s life will be at the Sumner-Bailey Garden in Sumner, Mississippi on July 11th at 1pm with a reception to follow at the Bayou Bend Country Club in Sumner from 2pm - 4pm. If weather does not permit, both events will be at the Bayou Bend Country club. Dress should be casual and comfortable.

> To honor his memory, do a kind deed daily, appreciate the adventure of life, be a friend, and appreciate the simple things.

Cleveland Funeral Home is honored to serve the Morrow Family in their time of loss.
