Johnny Mac Ware

Johnny Mac Ware, age 69, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the North Sunflower Hospital in Ruleville, MS.

Born on August 16, 1957, to Burtis and Gladys White Ware in Cleveland, MS, Johnny spent his life devoted to the water as a commercial fisherman and co-owner of the Ware's Bait Shop with his parents. He cherished fishing, football, NASCAR, old westerns, and caring for his treasured cat. Although he enjoyed solitude, Johnny was dearly loved by his family and friends who will miss him deeply.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Paul, Bobby, Frankie, and Ricky Ware. He is survived by his sister, Betty Ware Boyd and her husband Wallace, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville, MS, officiated by Reverend Johnathan Glover.

The pallbearers for the service will be Freddie Ware, Jr., Bobby Ware, Jr., Jeremy Ware, Robert Joe Ware, and Jared Moseley.
