Joshua Thomas McCaffrey, Sr. age 44, of Drew, MS, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024, at his home in Drew, Mississippi.
Born on August 2, 1979, to Betty Sue Pruett and Tommy Wayne McCaffrey in Angleton, Texas, Joshua's early years were marked by kindness, determination, and a strong work ethic. He made his mark as an exceptional plumber and truck driver, earning a reputation as a Jack of All Trades. Joshua's true passion in life was his family; he cherished moments spent with his children and grandchildren and poured his heart into their well-being.
Surviving Joshua are his mother, Betty Sue McCaffery of Walnut Grove, MS; father Tommy Wayne McCaffrey of Drew, MS; daughter Presley McCaffrey of Batesville. MS; sons Joshua McCaffrey Jr. of Fulton, MS; Nolan and Noah Jones of Shaw, MS; grandsons Bowen McKee and Kash McCaffrey of Batesville, MS; brother Jay McCaffrey of Jackson, TN; grandmother Margie Langdon of Richland, MS; and his dear fiancée Jessica Jones of Shaw, MS.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandparents: Hazel Frazier Pruett, C.D. Pruett, Larry McCaffrey; and step-grandfather Woody Langdon.
A visitation will be held on July 13, 2024, at The American Legion Post 165 building on Rosemary from 11:00 am. to 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Memorial service to honor Joshua will follow at 1:00 pm. John Ferguson will officiate the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lebonheur Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
During this difficult time, Cleveland Funeral Home has been entrusted with caring for Joshua's family. Although gone from our sight, Joshua's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace knowing he was deeply cherished.
