Kylan Amzie Ellison, age 25, of Cleveland, MS passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland.
Kylan was born July 13, 1998, to Steven Anthony Ellison and Maura Salley in Cleveland, MS. He grew up in Rosedale and Cleveland and graduated from Cleveland High School in 2016. He attended Delta State University for a short time.
Kylan was a very talented musician and started playing the drums as a young child. He continued playing drums all the way through high school. Kylan found another passion for working in the kitchen and worked as a chef for several area restaurants including Papa Roc's, Delta Meat Market, Levee Break Grill, and 301 Grill. Occasionally, he would also help his uncle in the woodworking business; JS Woodwork. He was most noted though for being a kindhearted, quiet, but funny person who was always the life of the party.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Anthony "Tony" Ellison; grandfather, Thomas Salley; grandmother, Barbara Moore; grandfather, Steve Ellison; great-grandfather, Travis Salley; and great-grandmother, Margaret Salley.
Kylan is survived by his mother, Maura Salley of Jackson, MS; brothers, Austin and Gunner Gerald of Hackleburg, AL; aunt and uncle, Mary Virginia and Joseph Salley of Boyle, MS; aunt, Stefanie Pepper of Brandon, MS; great aunt and uncle, Gay and James Salley of Boyle, MS; caregiver and other mother, Holly Ray (John) of Cleveland, MS; grandmother, Monica Billy of Philadelphia, MS; step-grandfather, David Moore of Rosedale, MS; cousins, Susan and Bruce Burnside; Brett, Tyler, Logan, Kaden, and Nash Burnside. He also leaves a host of friends and extended family to cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Willie Jackson will officiate the service.
Honorary pallbearers are all his immediate friends.
