Laverne was a cherished member of her family and community, a woman whose love and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. Laverne dedicated her life to her family, exemplifying what it meant to be a nurturing presence. She adored the love of her life, Bruce Chailland. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, Ashleigh Chailland Nelson and Cameron Nelson, who could do no wrong in her eyes. Her commitment to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and she took great delight in the moments spent with them. In her leisure time, Laverne enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. She had a passion for gardening and yardwork, finding solace in nurturing the earth. Laverne also loved to swim, embracing the freedom and joy it brought her. During quieter moments, she could be found relaxing in her chair, watching her favorite television shows, particularly the Food Network and "All My Children." Her affinity for cooking and baking was well-known, and she often shared her culinary creations with friends and family, filling their lives with warmth and flavor.

She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Ann Nelson, and her beloved siblings: Glenda Manning, Linda Keading, Alice Jackson, and Virginia "Jenny" Langley. She also leaves behind her brothers, Jerry "Sonny Boy" Dubar and Robert Dubar. Each of them carries forward her spirit, love, and legacy. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who remain, just as Laverne's will continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched.

As we remember Laverne Chailland, we celebrate a life rich in love and laughter, and a spirit that will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
