Leo Scruggs

 Leo Nelson Scruggs, age 77, of Cleveland, passed away on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at his home.  He was born on January 22, 1936 to Johnny F. and Annie Ruth (Kendrick) Scruggs, Sr. inSumrall , MS.   Leo graduated from Sumrall High School. He married Judith Lott and joined the United States Navy on the same day June 21, 1955. After his enlistment with the Navy, Leo went to work for IBM as a repair technician. He retired from IBM after 29 years of service and went to work for Eastman Kodak as a copier repairman. He was also employed by Acadian Medical as a Technician. Leo was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Delta Senior Association Golf Team. He was a Deacon of Immanuel Baptist Church where he worked and held many positions. He was a long time member of the Cleveland Noon Lions Club. Leo's humility and giving  loving heart will be missed by his family and many friends.  Visitation will be held Wednesday January 23, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held 9:00AM Thursday January 24, 2013 at Immanuel Baptist Church 1300 Lamar Street Cleveland .  Burial will follow in the Martin- Lott Cemetery in Sumrall , MS at 3:00PM. Dr. Steve Huber and Rev. Bruce Bryant will officiate the service. He is survived by Wife, Judith Lott Scruggs of Cleveland, MS. Son; Mark Scruggs of Hazelhurst, MS, Daughter Michelle S. Brooks of Fredrick, MD, 2 Brothers; Johnny F. Scruggs, Jr. of Sumrall, Ms, Wesley Scruggs of Sumrall, MS, 4 sisters; Gracie Miller of Lucedale, MS, Doris Cauthon, Sumrall, MS, Quida Dickerson of Brandon, MS and Freida Lukjanczuk of South Carolina. Four grand children Randle Scruggs, Joshua Scruggs, Brendan Cochran and Elizabeth June Brooks. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Randle Scruggs, Joshua Scruggs, Brendan Cochran, Bob Taylor, Lamar Andrews and Blake Andrews. Honorary pallbearers are his Sunday School Class "The Scrap Iron Class" and the Deacons of Immanuel Baptist Church.
