CLEVELAND - Lucie Langston Tubbs, age 85, of Cleveland formerly of Memphis, passed away Saturday September 04, 2010 at her residence in Cleveland. She was born on September 11, 1924 to James and Bonnie (Sudduth) Henderson in Schlater, MS. Mrs. Tubbs was a high school graduate and served her country in the United States Women Army Corps and Army Air corps during WW II where she obtained the rank of Corporal. Mrs. Tubbs was a former Baxter Laboratory employee and a member of First Baptist Church Boyle. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Willis Alton Langston and Willis Thomas Tubbs, Daughter; Bonnie Thompson, Sons; Willis Alton Langston, Jr and Randy Henderson Langston, four brothers and one sister. Visitation will be held Sunday September 5, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Old Cleveland Cemetery. The Reverend Clarence Edwards will officiate the services. Mrs. Tubbs is survived by four daughters; JoAnn McDaniel of Boyle, MS, Kay Pyron of Cleveland, MS, Judy Ford of Boyle, MS, and Brenda Hoop of Taylor, MS. 2 step-sons; Melvin Tubbs of Byhalia, MS and Wayne Tubbs of Southaven, MS. 2 Sister; Estelle Strawbridge of Jackson, MS and Mavis Emerson of Memphis, TN., Brother Melvin Henderson of Kentucky. 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Pall bearers will be Bo Coleman, Kenny Britt, John Ford, Kenny Lane, Jr., Matthew Hamilton, and Andrew Mullins. Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
