Sarah Margaret Helms Hudspeth, age 88, of Cleveland, died on Tuesday February 24, 2009 at the Bolivar County Medical Center. She was born on March 16, 1920 to Virgil and Lucille (Bright) Helms in Pope, MS. Mrs. Hudspeth grew up in the Cleveland area and married Tommy Hudspeth. Mrs. Hudspeth was a retired hostess for Holiday Inn having worked there as cashier and hostess for 20 years. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a former member of the Optimist Club. She also loved planting and growing flowers in her garden. Visitation will be held Thursday 02/26/2009 at 1:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland. Graveside services will be held Thursday 02/26/2009 at 2:00 PM at North Cleveland Cemetery Cleveland, MS. Burial will be at the North Cleveland Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Turner will officiate the service. Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She is survived by Daughter, Tommie Helms Booker of Merigold, MS. Daughter, Susan Helms Duke of Cleveland, MS. Sister, Mildred Helms Sellers of Cleveland, MS. 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and relatives Jimmy Ray, Jeff Duke, Wesley Thomas, John Paul Correro, Timmy Tackett, James Framer Honorary pallbearer is Ray Sellers and Don Weeks Memorials may be made to Merigold Baptist Church 301 2nd St. Merigold, MS 38759 or American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
