Margaret Manning Walker age 94 of Cleveland, MS passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS.
Margaret was born in Drew, MS on September 28, 1927, to Reese W Manning, Jr. and Rebecca Chapman Manning Ringold. She graduated from Ruleville High School and Mississippi State College for Women. She later earned her Masters's Degree from Delta State University. Margaret was a long-time educator and a member of the Women's Hospital Auxillary, Cleveland Women's Club, Friends of the Bolivar County Library, and a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland. Margaret was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Margaret was preceded in death by her father and stepmother Reese and Anne Manning, her mother and step-father, Rebecca and Earl Ringold, her beloved husband U.S. "Pete" Walker, and her brother Reese W Manning, III.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Knighton, her grandson Stuart Knighton (Jamie), four grandsons, Myrick, Stone, Jett, and Cruz, she is also survived by a son Earl Walker (Glenda), granddaughter Ally Purvis (Brad), granddaughters, Manning and Mullins. Other survivors include her brother, Mike Manning, sister, Peggy Manning Bond as well as her beloved cousins, Chapman and Cherie Lee, Doug and Ann Jones, Curtis and Pat Ringold.
A visitation will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland MS. A private family interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland, MS, or the charity of the donor's choice.
