Margie Griffith Tarver

Margie Griffith Tarver, age 89 of Cleveland, Ms passed away peacefully at her home on December 13, 2023. Graveside Services will be held December 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM at New Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, MS. 

 Margie was born March 17, 1934 to Lora Lou Crosby Griffith and William Houston Griffith. She graduated from Skene Consolidated Schools and also attended Mississippi Delta Community College and Delta State University. She was also a book keeper for Griffith Farms Incorporated, and Co-Owner of Delta Distributions Incorporated until her retirement. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Skene Baptist Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Glen Crosby Post #165.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, William Houston and Lora Lou Griffith, and her only daughter Karen Griffith Tarver, sister Evelyn Griffith Brown (Dowe), brothers Milton Griffith (Lois), James Griffith (Gwen)also her daughter in law Nancy Tarver, and nephew Dowe A. "Bubba" Brown.

She is survived by her son Mike Tarver (Cindy) Tarver, sister Barbara Griffith Roberts, granddaughters Teri Mims (Jackie), Traci Cummins (Joseph), and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by a special niece, Laura Griffin.

 Pallbearers are, Brad Roberts, Bill Griffith, Albert Rash, Ronnie Roberts, Craig Roberts, Jackie Mims, and Joseph Cummins. Honorary pallbearers are, Dr. Brent Roberts, Houston Griffith, Griffith Roberts, Will Roberts, and Shannon Brown.

 Cleveland Funeral Home has been entrusted with the service arrangements.
