I had met Matthew back in 2012 at the time I was only 17 and Matthew was much younger, but when I tell you I have never met an more motivated young man in my life I mean it. The little time I did spend around Matthew I could tell if he wanted something done he was going to accomplish it and not have any second thoughts about giving up. This young man was talented and very humble about it. Matthew ask me once what motivated me, and after being around him for a little time , I had told him that I want to be better than myself and to out do what I had done yesterday. Ultimately looking at Matthew, I seen a guy who competed with himself and wanted to get better than himself. Rest In Peace Matthew Rubio. May God be with you! Jj you and your family are in prayers and Godspeed..

Matthew was my student in fifth grade at Pearman Elementary School. He was a joy to have in my math and science classes. He was very respectful and studied very diligently. May God grant him eternal rest is my prayer. I also lift you as a family up in prayer.

To Matthew's family I send sincere condolences and heartfelt prayers for each of you. I didn't know Matthew personally but he was our waiter on numerous occasions. We found him to be very pleasant and easy to talk with. He always had a beautiful smile and a most courteous attitude. Peace and God's blessings.
