Mr Freddie Jerrel Mathis

Freddie Jerrel Mathis, age 57, of Merigold, died on Saturday February 01, 2014 at home.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. Graveside Services will immediately follow at Delta Heights Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM. Reverend Rick Milan will officiate the service.
Freddie was born on May 17, 1956 to Ollie and Ruby (McMinn) Mathis in Shaw, MS. He attended Shaw Schools and grew up in the Shaw-Skene community. He formerly worked with Delta Rice and farmed and was currently employed as a welder with Soliz Construction. Freddie was a hard working man who loved his family. His sense of humor was noted by all enjoying his company. He loved to dance, cook on the grill and eat. He formerly attended the Cleveland Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Glenn Greer, Bobby Mathis and sister, Patsey Mathis.
Freddie is survived by his companion, Vickie Milan Mathis of Merigold, MS; Daughters: Jennifer (A W) Parks of Drew, MS and Emily (Blake) Tackett of Cleveland, MS; 2 Step-sons: Michael Ballard of Merigold, MS and Jason Ballard of Leland, MS; Brother, Kenny Mathis of Rayne, LA. Brother, Robbie Doyle of Skene, MS. Brother, J W Mathis of Corinth, MS. Brother, J D Mathis of Cleveland, MS. Twin sisters; Jynan Bowen of Cleveland, MS and Jynean Medders of Pontotoc, MS; Brother, Terry Greer of Cleveland, MS; Brother, H S Greer of Cleveland, MS. Grandchildren: Ashton Ballard, Carlisle Ballard, Landon Knight, Preston Davis, Alex, Trevor, Tristan and Mabrey Parks.
Pallbearers are; A W Parks, Blake Tackett, Jason Ballard, Jesse Laro, Shane Hays and Jonathan Milam.
