Myrtle Lee Timbrook

Myrtle Coleman Lee Timbrook, age 91, of Shaw passed away on Tuesday July 12, 2011 at her home in Shaw.  She was born on December 10, 1919 to Robert and Lattie Bell Coleman in Shaw. Mrs. Timbrook graduated from Merigold High School in 1941. She also obtained a degree in nursing in 1952 from the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Vicksburg . Mrs. Timbrook worked for the City of Memphis Hospital for over 27 years as head charge nurse before her retirement in 1980. She was the matriarch of the family, a devout Christian, loving mother and grandmother who showed her unconditional love to all her family.   She was a member of the Interstate Baptist Church . Mrs. Timbrook was preceded in death by husbands Claude Charles Lee and Thurston A. Timbrook, 2 Daughters Evelyn C. Lee and Theresa Utz, 3 sisters Emma Lou Spencer, Virgie Marquis, Lenora Colter, 2 brothers Robert William Coleman and Willie Elmer Coleman.  Visitation will be held Thursday July 14, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held 10:00AM Friday July 15, 2011 at Interstate Baptist Church in Shaw.  Burial will follow at the Linn Methodist Church Cemetery . Reverend Robert Haney will officiate the services.  She is survived by Daughter, Betty G Applewhite of Shaw, MS. Son-in-law, Jimmy Utz of Boyle , MS . Five grandchildren, Ronald and wife (Sarah) Tatum of Shaw, Betty Moses of Cordova , TN , Robert Gore of Memphis , TN , Jeanie and husband ( Gary ) Dowdy of Mayfield, KY, Norrie McClure of Mayfield , KY.  9 great grandchildren, Tyler, Caleb, and Madison Tatum,  Matthew and Mitchell Lancaster, Elizabeth & Erica Nelson, Tabitha Cook. Pallbearers are Robert Gore, Jeffery Gore, Pat Bowen, Steve Witt, Jessie L. Crabtree and James Bowen.Memorials may be made to the St Jude's Hospital  501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105  or The American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22718Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. .
