Nellie Jean Pace

SHELBY - Nellie Jean Junkin Pace, age 71, of Shelby, MS, died on Tuesday, August 07, 2018 at the Shelby Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

 

Visitation will be held Friday, August 10, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Assembly of God in Cleveland.  Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM at First Assembly of God in Cleveland, MS.  Burial will be at the Delta Heights Memorial Gardens. Reverend Tim Cook and Jeremy Vanderburg will officiate the services

 

Nellie was born on May 10, 1947 to Lee and Hattie (Tyson) Junkin in Merigold, MS.  She married Billy Pace January 10, 1967.  She was a former Holiday Inn manager having worked through several mergers and name changes. Nellie was proud of her career that spanned 3 decades. She was also proud of the fact that at the age of 53 receiving her GED. Nellie loved her family and more especially her grandchildren. She loved laughing, joking and playing tricks on her friends and family. Nellie also enjoyed flowers, making crafts and decorating her home. She was a member of the Cleveland First Assembly of God.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Hattie Junkin, Husband, Billy Pace, brothers; John Junkin, Gerald Junkin, Danny Junkin and a grandson, Jonathan Kitchens.

 

Nellie is survived by Daughter, Terri (David) Kitchens of Cleveland, MS.  Daughter, Jessica (Tim) Cook of Vardaman, MS.  Brother, Bobby Junkin of Starkville, MS, Brother, Monroe Junkin of Jacksonville, AR.  Sister, Sue Lewellen of Troy, NC.  Two grandsons, Michael (Chasity) Kitchens, and Jakob Cook. One granddaughter, Colbie Cook. One great grandson, Bryson Kitchens. She also leaves several nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. 

 

Pallbearers are David Kitchens, Tim Cook, Michael Kitchens, and Harold Ouzts.
