Nora Mae Cross

July 10, 1949 — March 22, 2024

Merigold

Nora Mae Mann Cross, a beloved soul of 74 years from Merigold, MS, peacefully departed on Friday, March 22, 2024, surrounded the warmth of her home.

Her legacy will be honored during the visitation on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Cleveland Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. She will find her final resting place in the Drew City Cemetery under the comforting guidance of Reverend Greg Chamblee.

Born on July 10, 1949, in Louisville, KY to Leroy and Aline Minter Mann, Nora's journey led her to Merigold at a tender age. Educated in Merigold Schools and Cleveland High School, she embarked on a dedicated 38-year career at Baxter Laboratories before embracing retirement. On April 26, 1989, she exchanged vows with her loving husband Ricky Cross in Arkansas. Nora found solace in needlepoint work, culinary delights, cruising on her Can-Am vehicle, and indulging in retail therapy. However, her heart overflowed with joy when surrounded by her grandchildren and cherished family members. Her spiritual nourishment came from being an esteemed member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Nora is reunited with her parents Leroy and Aline Mann and siblings Roy Mann, Carl Mann, Twila Hunter, and Gayland Mann; together they watch over her great-grandchild Walker Weeks.

Left to cherish memories of Nora is her devoted husband of 34 years Ricky Allan Cross of Merigold, MS; daughters Pam Weeks of Eminence, KY and Traci Smith (Tommy) of Merigold; sisters Laquita Adkins of Ruleville, Libby Richardson of Gatlinburg TN; Jean Doyle of McComb MS; brother Terry Mann of Iowa LA; grandchildren Paul Weeks, Johnathan Smith and Madison Smith. Additionally, she leaves behind a plethora of nieces and nephews who hold dear the moments shared with her.
