Ralph Wayne Braswell, age 76, of Woodville, TX died on Tuesday September 08, 2009 at his residence. He was born on January 21, 1933 to Lawrence and Alice Ophelia (Blessitt) Braswell in Linn, MS. Mr. Braswell attended Linn School and graduated in 1951. He then joined the US Air Force, serving in the Korean War. After completing four years of service with the US Air Force Mr. Braswell began farming, he later went into sales and business ventures. As a resident of Shepherd, TX Mr. Braswell owned and operated a retail store and did contract work. He served as Mayor Pro-Tem for the City of Shepherd. He was elected President of the Chamber of Commerce and appointed to the East Texas Development Corp, were among his many achievements. Ralph was married to Judy Carol Hancock who worked along side him. Mr. Braswell lived a very active, fulfilled life, always ready and willing to help his fellowman. He loved Jesus Christ as his savior. Visitation will be held from Friday September 11, 2009 at 1:00PM with funeral service to follow at 2pm at Linn Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Linn Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Artie Nute will officiate the services. Kenny Williams and Lisa Carol Braswell will bring the message in song. He is survived by Spouse, Judy Hancock Braswell of Woodville, TX. Mother, Ophelia Blessitt Braswell of Cleveland, Three Sons, Glen Wayne Braswell of Lexington, KY, Larry Braswell of Orlando,Florida and Nathan Thomas Sheffield of Cleveland, MS. Two daughters, Loyce Miles of Jackson, MS and Marlena Carol Norman of Indianola, MS, brother Lawrence "Buck" Braswell of Raymondville, TX and sister Francis Downs of Linn, MS. 12 grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers are Jared Braswell, Stephen Braswell, Kenneth Pace, Brian Braswell, Beau Miles Wray Braswell and Drew Braswell. Honorary pallbearers are James Domino, Ricky Downs, Chris Braswell, Chuck Braswell, Lucas Braswell and Andrew Braswell. Memorials may be made to Texas Baptist Children's Home 1301 N. Mays St, Round Rock, TX 78664 Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS is in charge of arrangements.
