Ronald Lamar Thornton

GREENVILLE - Ronald  "Ronny" Lamar Thornton, age 59, of Greenville, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, at his home. 

Visitation will be held Monday, July 1, 2019, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, Mississippi. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 10:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Robert Haney will officiate the service.

Ronny was born on February 12, 1960, to Vernon Ray and Dorothy (Wade) Thornton in Isola, MS. He grew up all over the delta following his dad in farming. Ronny attended Rosedale and Greenville Schools. Ronny married Virginia Ann Robertson on June 24, 1984. He worked at Quality Steel for many years. Ronny loved music and loved to play the drums. Ronny also loved to draw. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a true family man. 

Ronny was preceded in death by his parents Vernon Ray Thornton and Dorothy Marion Thornton and his brother, Samuel Thornton.

Ronny is survived by his Wife of 35 years, Virginia Ann Roberson Thornton of Greenville, MS;  Daughter, Krystal(Henry Miller) Thornton of Greenville, MS;  Daughter, Samantha(David) Horne of Cleveland, MS;  Brother, Donald(Patrice) Thornton of Jacksonville, FL;  Sister, Karen(Karl) Wagner of Cleveland, MS;  Sister, Lisa(Billy) Bishop of Cleveland, MS; 8 Grandchildren Matthew Thornton, Amiyah Thompson, Mason Thompson, Henry Miller, III, Waylan Miller, Aden Thornton, Camryn Horne and Lily Horne.
