Roy Collier Boone, age 92, of Cleveland, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Bolivar Medical Hospital in Cleveland, MS.

Born on January 16, 1934, in Carroll County, Mississippi, Roy was the son of Roggie Hammon Boone and Alma Collier Boone. Early in life, he and his family moved to O'Riley, where he later graduated from Boyle High School. He pursued higher education at Delta State College before proudly enlisting in the United States Army in 1954, achieving the rank of Corporal.

In 1956, Roy married the love of his life, Marjory White, with whom he shared a lifetime of devotion. His career began with Trunkline Gas, and he subsequently found great success in farming, embracing the outdoors with passion and dedication.

Roy was deeply involved in his community, serving as past president and board member of the Huntington Point Hunting Club. His commitment extended to past roles on the Bolivar County Emergency 911 Board, Bolivar County Board of Education, and Heritage Christian University (formerly International Bible College) Board. A devoted member of the Cleveland Church of Christ, he served as an Elder and Bible teacher, and he generously volunteered teaching in prison ministry and supported numerous mission endeavors.

A man of diverse interests, Roy was an avid collector of World War II Japanese militaria, a self-taught gunsmith and machinist, and a computer enthusiast who maintained connections with friends and acquaintances worldwide. Above all, his greatest joy was God, family, and farming.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roggie and Alma Boone; his beloved wife, Marjory White Boone; and siblings Hiram Boone, Jewell Colson, Edna Carpenter, Minnie Lavada Boone, and Joy Boone. He is lovingly survived by his children Carol Tucker (Johnny) of Fulton, MS; Mark Boone (Kathie) of Cleveland, MS; and Betsy Boone Henderson of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren — Austin Tucker, Chris (Sam) Potts, Beth (Luke) Chamblee, Keats (Lisa) Baldwin, Ryan (Michael) Fitch, Collier Henderson, and Alan Henderson — as well as fourteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
