Obituary for Russell Henry Quinton, Jr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Russell Henry Quinton, Jr., age 78, of Cleveland, MS, who departed this life on August 31, 2025, at the Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland.
Russell was born on September 9, 1946, to the late Russell Henry Quinton and Levy Danie Williamson Quinton in Cleveland, MS. He spent his early years in Washington, Illinois, where he graduated from Washington High School. Russell pursued higher education at Bradley University, focusing on Computer Science, and later attended Eastern Kentucky University, where he studied Construction Engineering. His professional journey began with Denham-Blythe, where he managed multi-million dollar construction projects across the country. After a fulfilling career in construction, Russell returned to his roots in Cleveland, MS. He took pride in serving as the Inventory Clerk for Bolivar County, where he developed a new inventory system that showcased his dedication and skills.
In his leisure time, Russell enjoyed the open road on his Harley Davidson, participated in the Memphis in May BBQ judging, and cherished moments with his beloved canine companions, Tokay and Lacy. His passion for Karate also led him to achieve a brown belt, reflecting his commitment to personal growth and discipline.
Russell is remembered fondly by his family and friends as a loving father, brother, uncle, and companion.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Levy Quinton, and his uncle Bob Quinton. He is survived by his sons, William Samuel Quinton of Frankfort, KY, and Russell Henry Quinton, III of Lexington, KY. He is also mourned by his brother, William "Bill" Quinton (Ann) of Cleveland, MS, and sister, Betty Q. Michie (Keith) of Calera, AL, along with the love of his life, Bea Noto of Covington, LA. Russell’s legacy continues through his grandchildren, Willow Marie Quinton and Alexander Duncan Quinton, and a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Fish Robinson.
In honor of his life and contributions, the honorary pallbearers will be James Parsons, Neil Quinton, Lane Quinton, Clyde McClung, Sean McClung, and Keith Michie.
Russell's story is one of love, dedication, and a deep commitment to those around him. He will be dearly missed and remembered by all who knew him.
