Sammy Allen Riddell, a beloved figure in his community and a cherished family man, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, at Bolivar Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family, after bravely confronting cancer with his characteristic quiet strength and grace. He was born on March 6, 1948, to Mary Iris and Henry Allen Riddell in Drew, Mississippi, and lived a life profoundly marked by his dedication to both his work and his loved ones.

Sammy was a proud owner of Riddell Welding, where he served as a self-employed craftsman for many years. His skilled hands and keen sense of craftsmanship earned him the respect and admiration of many in the industry. Beyond his professional pursuits, he had a passion for fishing, grilling, and entertaining his family and friends, and he also enjoyed spending countless hours tinkering in his shop, where he found joy in honing his skills and creating meaningful projects.

His devotion to family was unparalleled; he deeply adored his grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. Sammy took great pride in watching them grow and nurturing their dreams, always being there to lend a helping hand or an encouraging word. His legacy will undoubtedly continue through them.

Sammy is survived by his beloved spouse, Kay Cabrol Riddell, and his cherished daughter, Laura Clem. He was a proud grandfather to McKaylen Clem, Hollie Paxton Clem, and Lake Clem, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas Henry "Sonny" Riddell (Carla), Paul Riddell (Ellen), Pete Riddell (Faye), Ressie Ellis Riddell (Jill), Sisters Debbie Salome Riddell Knight (Wayne), and Tonie Lanell Riddell Gianelloni (Max). He also leaves behind his sister in laws Sophie Rae Cabrol Dearman (Richard), Peggy Cabrol Tomjack, and Brother in law Russell James Cabrol, along with a host of nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Allen Riddell and Mary Iris Downs Riddell, as well as his sisters, Francine Wells (Billy) and Dorothy Mitchell (Jerry Sr.), all of whom he held dear in memory.
