Samuel Beevers

HOLIDAY ISLAND - Samuel Estus Beevers, age 78, of Holiday Island, AR went to be with his Lord on Friday July 06, 2012 at the Eureka Springs Hospital.  He was born on September 02, 1933 to Carl Guy (Jack) and Ora Alice (Mabus) Beevers in Cleveland, MS. He married JoAnn Brown November 16, 1952 in Shelby, MS.  He was a Cleveland High School Graduate and attended Mississippi Delta Community College. In his early years Samuel drove a bus for Cleveland School District and worked for the Texaco Station in Cleveland. He then became employed by Mississippi Power and Light Company and had a 42 year career serving the cities of Cleveland, Greenville and Vicksburg. He was Plant Manager before his retirement in 1990. Samuel was a United States Army Veteran having served his country in the Korean War. He was a member of the Holiday Island Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking and being a clock smith for his close friends and family. He formerly served as president, secretary and treasurer for the Optimist Club in Greenville. Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, sister Margie Rush, brothers Aubrey and Darwin Beevers. Visitation will be held from Tuesday July 10, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 10:45AM at Cleveland Funeral Home with Graveside funeral service to follow in the North Cleveland Cemetery at 11:00AM. Brother Eddie Champion will officiate the service.   He is survived by his wife of 58 years, JoAnn Brown Beevers of Holiday Island, AR.  Son, Terry Beevers of Pell City, AL.  Son, Gregg and wife (Pam Fletcher) Beevers of Olive Branch, MS. Brothers, Joe Beevers and  Jackie Beevers of Cleveland, MS. Grandchildren, Wade Beevers of Birmingham, AL, Kathleen Beevers of Auburn, AL. and Amelia Beevers of Olive Branch, MS. He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Wade Beevers, Kelly Beevers, Jackie Beevers, Joe Beevers, Joey Beevers and Butch Craig. Honorary Pallbearers is Tommy Rush. Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
