- Shirley Pike Orr, age 79, of Boyle, MS passed away on Wednesday January 07, 2015 at the Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Visitation will be held Saturday 01/10/2015 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday 01/11/2015 at First Baptist Church Boyle in Boyle, MS. Burial will be at the Beulah Cemetery. Reverends Clarence Edwards and Robert Haney will officiate the service.
Shirley was born on August 10, 1935 to Jack and Lillie (Worbington) Pike in Benoit, MS. She grew up in Benoit and attended Benoit Schools be fore moving to Greenville, MS. Shirley retired from US Axminster formerly Greenville Mills in 2002. While in Greenville, Shirley was a member of Swiftwater Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and VBS for many years. She moved to Boyle in 2004 to be near her family. She moved her membership to First Baptist Church Boyle. Shirley loved to quilt, Sewing, Cross Stitching, reading and baking. For many years she hosted the Worbington family reunions. She enjoyed visiting the nursing home with First Baptist Church family. She also enjoyed traveling with her siblings.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph A. Orr, brother Bobby Gene Pike and sister Marie Pike.
She is survived by Son, Jackie (Cher) Orr of Salem, AR. Daughter Susan Orr Therrell of Boyle, MS. Son, Don Orr of Greenville, MS. Daughter, Jo Marie (Jimmy) Taylor Gentry of Cleveland, MS. Step-son, Bobby Joe (Jean) Orr of Noxapater, MS. Sister, Margie Pike Smith of Benoit, MS. Brother, John F. (Catherine) Pike of Madison, MS. Brother, Fred (Kathy) Pike of Callahan, FL. 9 Grandchildren and 19 Great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are grandsons; Chris Orr, Brian Orr, Tony Hathaway, Phillip Michael Taylor, Gary Bernard, Beau Parish and Jason Condon. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Smith and James Therrell.
