Susan Earlene Tart

Susan Earlene Prewitt Tart, aged 70, of Batesville, Mississippi, departed this world on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.

Born on March 27, 1956, in Cleveland, Mississippi, Earlene was the beloved daughter of Aubrey "Shorty" Prewitt and Idabelle Griffin Prewitt. She cherished her Cleveland roots, flourishing in the community where she graduated from Cleveland High School. Earlene's vibrant spirit was evident in her love for family gatherings, culinary creations, joyful shopping adventures, and her undeniable ability to be the life of the party. Laughter and warmth defined her presence.

Earlene's greatest delight was found in the company of her cherished children, grandchildren, and siblings. Her strength shone brightly as she triumphed over cancer twice, a testament to her resilience.

She is predeceased by her parents and siblings Kenneth "Butch" Prewitt, Jimmy Prewitt, and Beverly Sue Prewitt Atkins. Her legacy endures through her four devoted children: Katherine Homes (David) of Doddsville, Mississippi; Terrie McKnight (Tim) of Cleveland, Mississippi; Tina Johnson of Batesville, Mississippi; and Jason Prewitt (Kayla) of Charleston, Mississippi. Earlene's nine grandchildren, Mitchell Harris, Nicholas Holmes, Paxton McKnight, Paige McKnight, Preslynn McKnight, Felicia Smith, Emily Johnson, John Michael Prewitt, and Carlisle Jess Prewitt, also hold her memory dear.

A graveside service celebrating Earlene's life will be held on Monday, September 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Linn Baptist Church Cemetery in Linn, Mississippi.
